Feb 14 K1 Milton

May I suggest that the team meet at the Sunset Lodge first, get their gear on and ski over to the Milton Heights Clubhouse to get their bibs and lift tickets. Maybe meet at around 8am.
The parents that are skiing should get their gear on at the Sunset Lodge too. All the bags could be left there. It should be safe. Hardly any public skiers go over there.
The Sunset Lodge is to the right of the pedestrian bridge. The Milton Heights Clubhouse is to the left, down the crossover path towards where the race course and the GE chalet are.

Hi Everyone,
We are considering running a formal racing camp over the March break this year.  The cost would be about $100 per racer (not confirmed yet) and we would run for 4 hours for 3 days during the week.  We are looking at approx 15 racers total divided between two coaches.
We are just wondering what kind of interest there may be in this before we go ahead and set it up.  If you are at all interested please let me know via email ASAP.Thanks,Erin

There will be a slight change in coaches for the Nancy Greene Storm team.  Haden had a small accident this past weekend while skiing and has broken his arm which means he is unable to ski for the next six weeks.  So, your new team coach will be Tim!!!!

For K2 or J racers who are interested in attending the extra race camps, I believe that you are able to go in and register for these camps on your own at the AOS website. K1 racers- for any racers who are interested in attending these camps, please let me know which camps you are interested in as we have a quota of how many racers we are able to send.  I will have to send in the registration from my end and will be working on that with AOS over the course of the week.  All of the information on the camps is available on the AOS website.  Review which ones your child would be interested in and let me know. Nancy Greene- there are multiple skills camps available to you.  I think that you are able to apply for these on your own.  If there are concerns with this please let me know. Erin

Dryland Update

Looking out the window, it's pretty safe to say we will not be biking tomorrow. I've looked into tobogganing and that is not possible either for a number of reasons.
I'm working on a plan for activities, but it will involve both indoor and outdoor, so winter boots, hats, mitts, etc. would be a good idea as would dressing in layers.

Due to increasing demand and interest, we are able to offer a formal development program for kids aged 4-6.  This program will target kids who are interested in racing at the Nancy Greene level but have not made the age requirement yet.  This program will be based on the snow stars program, and offer all of the learning opportunities that the Nancy Greene program offers.   There will be racing drills, gate training, general knowledge of racing and fun home races for the kids to participate in each week.  Coaching ratios will be approximately 2 or 3 kids per coach.  Parent volunteers are welcome to help with course set up and getting kids on and off the lift.  We ask that your child be able to turn, ski in control and come to a complete stop INDEPENDENTLY.  The intent of this program is to take really strong little skiers and introduce them to the racing world!  Please see the attached poster for more info.  The cost of the program DOES NOT include lift tickets/membership fee.   If you have any questions please email me.  Please be advised that we are only going to accept 8 children into the program this year as a trial run. Also, if  you are 15 years of age or older, are interested in becoming certified as a CSCF level 1 coach and you are interested in taking on a team this year please let me know.  You MUST be certified to coach.  You can go to the CSCF website www.snowpro.com to look for a level 1 course being offered this winter.
